Lighting the world with song – church carollers with some of the residents at Estia Health aged care facility at Golden Grove
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Adelaide embraced the ‘Light the World’ Christmas campaign in a collective bid to share light and lift others’ burdens.
They sang carols at aged care facilities, lent a hand with clean ups, fed the hungry, shared their home and friendship with people who live alone and took part in small and great acts of kindness that warmed hearts and made a difference.
As individuals and families discuss ways to pay it forward or keep it going, a message that Firle Stake president Rainer Korte shared by invitation with Advertiser readers in the Christmas Eve edition is well worth a read. (See here.)
As 2017 arrives most people know that lighting the world or lifting others’ burdens doesn’t end: the ‘call to action’ as disciples of Jesus Christ that president Korte speaks of is not a month long endeavour, or a year long, but a life-long commission.
Happy New Year everyone!
